Polished Concrete Flooring

Sleek, durable epoxy finish that transforms your garage into a clean, modern space.

Durable. Elegant. Built to Last.

Service Description

At Beautiful Concrete, we approach polished concrete as both a science and an art.
Every floor tells a story—its composition, aggregate distribution, and finish level all affect the final appearance and performance.

What We Offer

We specialize in tailoring these variables to achieve exactly the look and function you need.

Aggregate Exposure Levels

Polished concrete begins with mechanical refinement of the surface.
The depth of grinding determines how much of the concrete’s internal structure—the aggregate—becomes visible.

Exposure Level Visible Elements Approx. Cut Depth Characteristics

  • Cream Finish Cement paste only < 1/32″ Smooth, uniform, no aggregate exposure. Ideal for new, well-placed slabs.

  • Fine / Salt & Pepper Fine sand and small aggregate particles ~1/16″ Light speckled appearance, minimal visual texture, balanced between subtlety and interest.

  • Medium Aggregate Small-to-medium aggregate particles ~1/8″ More pronounced texture, increased light reflectivity.

  • Large Aggregate Full aggregate reveal Up to ¼″ Strong visual contrast, maximum texture, highly architectural appearance.

Sheen (Gloss) Levels

After determining the exposure, gloss level is controlled through progressive resin-bond diamond polishing.
Gloss is measured by Gloss Meter or DOI (Distinctness of Image) readings, providing an objective metric.

Gloss Level DOI Range Surface Description

  • Matte (Level 1) 0–9 Low reflectivity, diffuse light scatter, functional but understated.

  • Satin (Level 2) 10–39 Soft reflectivity, balanced aesthetics and glare control.

  • Semi-Gloss (Level 3) 40–69 Clear reflections, enhanced depth of field.

  • High Gloss (Level 4) 70–100 Mirror-like finish, maximum clarity and depth.

Why Polished Concrete Performs

  • Abrasion Resistance – Mechanical densification increases surface hardness, reducing wear.

  • Light Reflectivity – Adjustable gloss levels improve illumination efficiency in commercial and residential spaces.

  • Low Maintenance – No coatings to peel or reapply; simple cleaning protocols extend life cycle.

  • Sustainability – Utilizes the existing slab, reducing material consumption.

Process

Our Process

Slab Evaluation

Assess concrete mix, placement quality, and curing history

Aggregate Mapping

Determine optimal cut depth to meet visual and structural goals.

Progressive Refinement

Use sequential diamond grits to achieve target gloss and DOI

Densification & Protection

Apply lithium or sodium silicate densifiers; optional penetrating guards for stain resistance.

Verification

Measure gloss and DOI to confirm specifications.
