Two Primary Color Systems We Offer
Reactive Stains
(Acid-Based)
- Chemistry: Water-based acidic solution with metallic salts reacts with calcium hydroxide in cured concrete.
- Result: Permanent, variegated, earth-toned color unique to each slab.
- Penetration Depth: Approximately 1/32″–1/16″, depending on porosity.
- Best For: Natural, mottled patterns and organic tonal variation.
Non-Reactive Dyes
(Acetone- or Water-Based)
- Chemistry: Ultra-fine color particles carried into the pores by a solvent or water—no chemical reaction required.
- Result: Uniform, vivid color with a much wider range than stains.
- Penetration Depth: Micron-level infiltration.
- Best For: Bright, consistent colors, logos, and design-specific applications.

The choice of sheen comes from the sealer system applied after coloring—customized for durability, traffic level, and aesthetics.
